The beneficiary communities are somewhat distant from the urban area of San Ignacio de Velasco, and all share similar economic conditions: high levels of poverty, unmet basic needs, low agricultural production leading to poor food quality, inadequate nutritional requirements for the age group, and difficulty accessing markets.

Objectives

General Objective: Improve the socio-economic and environmental situation of Chiquitana women by providing context-adapted solutions in the San Ignacio de Velasco area.

Specific Objectiv”: Promote the empowerment and participation of Chiquitana women through the full exercise of the right to food via sustainable and resilient systems, and the right to a life free from violence.

Activities:

  • Train in sustainable management of agricultural production systems, including the use and conservation of natural resources and resilience measures against the effects of climate change.
  • Implement community reforestation.
  • Perform maintenance of water wells to mitigate water scarcity.
  • Conduct training and implementation of water harvesting mechanisms, provision of storage tanks, and water filters.
  • Conduct nutritional dietary practices and create a healthy food recipe book.
  • Implement a revolving fund for the supply of nutritious food.
  • Launch the creation of ecological gardens.
  • Conduct motivational talks on rights and personal development for women in the 5 communities.
  • Conduct workshops on Public Policy and Rights, digital tools, and participation and social control for women.
  • Conduct workshops for male participants on assertive masculinities.
