Justification: This center, managed by the Trinitarian Franciscan Brothers is in bad shape and needs urgently physical and material recontruction work. Its physical conditions do not satisfy current standards to take care of the street children who have been receiving housing in the center for years.
Objective: Guarantee complete rehabilitation of the Recovery and Housing Center for abandoned and unemployed youth in the Eastern region of the city of Mbujimayi, so they can have hygienic conditions and adequate social protection.
Activities:
- Supply necessary contruction material for the realization of the project
- Initiate rehabilitation work of the center
- Identify with experts real needs for technical and educational equipments
- Supply educational material and handbooks
- Prepare parts of center equipment (sleeping rooms, dining room...)
- Build water storage for the center
Beneficiaries: 50 street children (abandoned or orphans)
Duration of the project: 10 months
Budget and financing: € 30.000
