The 72, House-Home for Migrants will celebrate its tenth anniversary of service to the migrant and refugee population in April 2021. In these 10 years we have managed to establish a true home-home for people in transit and in search of a more dignified life. <\/span><\/p>\n The year 2020 was especially difficult in the area where we carried out our work: Central America and southern Mexico. The number of displaced people has increased due to the economic situation, widespread violence, and climate impacts. Crimes committed against migrants and asylum seekers are increasingly violent.<\/span><\/p>\n These problems are exacerbated by the global situation caused by COVID-19. As a consequence of the sanitary measures implemented by the authorities to contain the contagion of COVID, we have found ourselves in the need to implement our own protocols, after making the decision to continue with the humanitarian work that we carry out in favor of the migrant population and maintain our Open doors with a limit of 150 people inside the house. After measuring our institutional capacities and analyzing the context, we decided to provide humanitarian assistance by providing food to migrants who are staying outside the house as well, waiting for a place to be opened inside. Similarly, legal advice, support and accompaniment have been provided to refugees and victims of crime.<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.25″
