Fundación TAU Fundazioa
TAU Foundation Fundazioa is a Franciscan commitment to solidarity and cooperation between North and South. There is a common effort to build a more just and brotherly world.
We are active in different countries and with other people who fully aware of the realities of injustice and inequality. All the cooperators adopted the life style and behaviour of Francisco de Asís, especially when showing solidarity and cooperating with men and women who have been deprived of power and resources.
We strive to…
UNDERLINE THE FACT THAT WE ARE ALL MEMBERS OF A WORLD FAMILY AND EQUAL; WITH THE SAME RIGHTS, REGARDLESS OF RACE, LANGUAGE, RELIGION OR IDEOLOGY.
DEVELOP ACTIONS AND PROJECTS THAT IMPROVE AND CHANGE EXISTING CONDITIONS OF INJUSTICE
SHARING RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACHIEVING JUSTICE COMBINED WITH SOLIDARITY WITH ALL PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL. WE WANT TO MAKE OUR SMALL CONTRIBUTION BASED ON THE FRANCISCAN PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE.
RESPONDING TO THE CHALLENGES TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT IN OUR TIME, ALWAYS BASED ON OUR CAPABILITIES.
Mission
Our mission is based on four axes that encompass the different activities we carry out.
With a broad outlook, we strive to adapt our activity to the people and realities that are present in the places where we are active. We believe that small actions enable us to move forward, generate new dynamics and change everyday situations.

RAISING AWARENESS AND SOCIAL COMMITMENTS TO ERADICATE POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION BY COMBATTING THEIR CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES.
PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, RESPECTING THE IDENTITY AND CULTURE OF PEOPLE AND NATIONS; STRIVING TO ENHANCE THE ECOLOGICAL DIMENSION AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
FOSTERING ACCEPTABLE LIFE STANDARDS FOR RESPONSIBLE RECIPROCITY, EQUALITY AND FRATERNITY BETWEEN PEOPLE AND NATIONS, INSPIRED BY SAINT FRANCIS OF ASISI´S EXAMPLE.
Values
Solidarity and cooperation take many forms and there are many ways of implementing them, so we wish to describe our values:
-
Solidarity: Committing ourselves to creating more just and human conditions, where we exercise responsible citizenship committed to social transformation and the improvement of the living conditions of impoverished and / or socially maginalized populations; striving to guarantee the full exercise of their rights and duties as individuals and nations.
-
Cooperation: Establishing egalitarian relations with all possible players, social groups and local partners in the South, to enable them to organize themselves in the pursuit and achievement of common goals for the improvement of their living standards.
-
Comprehensive approach: Applying the grassroots approach with a focus on gender, interculturality, environment, participation, strengthening of people, groups and civil society, sustainability, capacity building, political advocacy, etc. to all the sustainable development processes and actions that are carried out.
- Education for development and social transformation: especially in the context and reality that are present in the North, with an awareness of how much we have to learn and change our lifestyles that are no longer sustainable, even for us.
