Justification<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

The main issue faced by La 72 is the violation of human rights of people in transit, refugees, and community human rights defenders in Tenosique (Tabasco, Mexico). Defending the human rights of these groups remains one of the most neglected challenges in public policy across Latin America. Some factors that exacerbate this problem include: increasingly harsh migration policies, violence and insecurity, the invisibilization of the issue and lack of political will, the absence of guarantees from authorities to allow human rights defenders to carry out their work, and high levels of xenophobia in Tenosique.<\/p>\n
