Justification

La enfermedad de Chagas constituye en Bolivia una de las enfermedades endémicas más importantes. La afección crónica suele requerir cirugías de colón, esófago y corazón. El proyecto pretende combatir este problema de salud pública reforzando las capacidades materiales y profesionales del Hospital. Se plantea un programa de sensibilización, detección y prevención, así como intervenciones quirúrgicas de marcapasos para 15 mujeres gestantes con Chagas.

  • Chagas disease prevention and cure campaign.
  • Identification of patients with chronic Chagas disease, prioritizing women.
  • Purchase of laboratory supplies for Chagas tests and pacemakers.
  • Surgical care and medical control of patients with Chagas in the Hospital. Surgical implantation of a pacemaker will be performed, prioritizing pregnant women.
  • Training and update workshops on Chagas disease.
  • Technical assistance and evaluation of training processes.
  • Preparation and dissemination of radio jingles through the media and social networks.
  • Radio microprograms with the participation of experts.
