Background Information

In the first week of January 2022, the Los Lirios community detected a series of problems in the community: Lack of awareness-raising programs regarding sanitation and hygiene, low awareness of the importance of sanitation and hygiene, insufficient investment in sanitation (latrines), little encouragement and promotion of local participation, low prioritization of the community’s  most pressing needs, the extra time that women spend caring for sick children, increased workloads for women, greater vulnerability to catching illnesses, the lack of developed capabilities for recognizing the rights of the local population, organizational capabilities and coordination with local authorities.
