Rehabilitation of Vulnerable Homes

The ongoing war with Israel, although primarily impacting the population of Gaza, is also having dramatic consequences in the Bethlehem Governorate. According to the latest data from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, 2024 ended with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 134 points and an unemployment rate of 34.9% in the West Bank. During the same period, Israel reported a CPI of 102 points and an unemployment rate of 2.7%. The difference in unemployment rates is significant. The average daily wage in Palestine is currently 105 shekels, whereas before the war it was 155 shekels per day. In Israel, the minimum monthly wage is 5,880 shekels, or 196 shekels per day. War, lack of employment, low wages, and rising prices make everyday life extremely difficult for families, who are unable to cover any extraordinary expenses such as high medical costs or basic home maintenance.

Objectives
General Objective: Improve the living conditions of vulnerable families in Bethlehem and create new job opportunities for the local community.
Specific Objectives: 1-Ensure decent and healthy housing for vulnerable populations in Bethlehem. 2-Improve hygienic and sanitary conditions for the population of Bethlehem. 3-Reduce the risk of disease. 4-Create new job opportunities for unemployed young people in vulnerable situations and without professional training.
