Justification

The main issue faced by La 72 is the violation of human rights of people on the move, refugees, and human rights defenders arriving in communities in Tenosique (Tabasco, Mexico). This work is carried out through four main areas: humanitarian assistance, care for vulnerable groups, human rights, and structural change, which work together in a coordinated manner to help migrants. A fifth area, “institutional strengthening,” has also been added.

Objectives

General objective: Defend and promote human rights, contribute to the recognition and respect of migrants in transit through Mexico, and support the effective enjoyment and restitution of their human rights.

Specific objective: Improve the quality of La 72’s response so that residents have a safe space and people in transit receive a mobility kit that helps them on their journey.
