The main issue faced by La 72 is the violation of human rights of people in transit, refugees, and community human rights defenders in Tenosique (Tabasco, Mexico). Defending the human rights of these groups remains one of the most neglected challenges in public policy across Latin America. Some factors that exacerbate this problem include: increasingly harsh migration policies, violence and insecurity, the invisibilization of the issue and lack of political will, the absence of guarantees from authorities to allow human rights defenders to carry out their work, and high levels of xenophobia in Tenosique.

Objectives
General Objective: To defend and promote human rights and contribute to the recognition and respect of migrants and refugees in transit through Tenosique, Tabasco, by providing them with comprehensive care: humanitarian assistance, psychosocial support, and legal aid.
Specific Objective: Institutional strengthening of La 72 Shelter for Migrants to enhance its humanitarian response capacity and human rights advocacy.

Activities:
- Base Team meetings for planning, monitoring, and evaluating annual objectives
- Monitoring of safety protocols and security incidents
- Managing resources for meal services and providing three complete, balanced meals per day
- Ensuring all individuals have access to a mattress in designated rest areas and maintaining hygiene and upkeep of furniture and equipment in these areas
- Providing access to psychological support and medical attention, including basic medications, for the migrant population
- Legal counseling for asylum seekers in Mexico and victims of crimes
- Training community defenders on the rights of people in mobility
