Justification

This project focuses its intervention on the problem identified through participatory processes with the local population: the prevailing gender inequality, linked to the high rate of violence against women, generated by sexist attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate traditional gender roles within families and organizational structures in the municipality of Ckochas. The measures and strategies identified for this third project phase are based on the learnings, strengths, and shortcomings from the previous phase.

Objectives

General objective: Contribute to reducing all forms of violence against women, girls, and boys, and to building a more peaceful society through inclusive education, the strengthening of women’s organizations, and gender-focused municipal management in the municipality of Ckochas.

Specific objective: Consolidate leadership, active participation, and advocacy with an intercultural approach among inclusive educational communities, women’s economic and social organizations, and public and private institutional actors in the municipality of Ckochas, in exercising the right to a life free from gender-based violence.

Activities:

  • Coordination with educational authorities and student committees to implement actions for preventing gender-based violence in educational units.
  • Design of a digital methodological toolbox with educational tools for violence prevention, with student participation.
  • Training for authorities and teachers on the use and implementation of the methodological toolbox for violence prevention in the educational setting.
  • Training and strengthening of student leaders as agents of violence prevention, incorporating artistic tools and ICTs.
  • Implementation of an educational advocacy plan for violence prevention through coeducation actions aimed at the school community, in coordination with PSPI.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the educational violence-prevention strategies implemented by authorities and teachers.
  • Development of two training programs on economic empowerment and political leadership, with an emphasis on preventing gender-based and economic violence.
  • Implementation of training programs on economic empowerment and political leadership, including strategies for social mobilization and rights advocacy.
  • Provision of productive equipment and technical training to strengthen women’s economic autonomy and reduce their vulnerability to economic and environmental violence.
  • Workshops on shared responsibility in caregiving and violence prevention for partners of women participating in economic and social associations.
  • Dialogue spaces between women leaders from social and economic organizations and student leaders to establish guidelines for a political agenda on violence prevention within the PTDI framework.
  • Creation of a toolbox containing materials for violence prevention.
  • Training for members of the Anti-Violence Network in the use of the toolbox.
  • Organization of awareness-raising campaigns with members of the Anti-Violence Network in rural communities, based on a cooperative intervention agenda.
  • Psychological support sessions for students and women who are victims of violence (sexual, physical, etc.).
  • Municipal meeting for the participatory development of a political agenda for violence prevention within the PTDI framework.
  • Dissemination and communication of the political agenda for violence prevention from a social, economic, and environmental perspective.
  • Virtual exchanges to deepen the sharing of experiences and resources for comprehensive responses to gender-based violence between the Ckochas Anti-Violence Network and EDE Fundazioa in Gipuzkoa.
