Justification

Considering the evident needs in the peri-urban areas of the city of Sucre, there is a plan to strengthen the “Mobile School” project, whose main characteristic is to move to rural peri-urban areas to address the psychosocial and educational needs of children. The project aims to extend its scope to address health and nutritional needs. It targets the most vulnerable boys and girls in situations of risk, who face limitations in their optimal development due to poor health and nutritional status. The project seeks to provide medical attention to women, children, adolescents, and their parents, reducing the prevalence of diseases such as cervical cancer, breast cancer, and cardiovascular conditions. By addressing these health and nutritional needs, the project aims to improve the overall well-being of the community and contribute to a healthier and more prosperous future for the children and their families in the targeted areas.

Objective

General Objective: To contribute to improving the health of indigenous migrant and peasant families in the municipality of Sucre.

Specific Objective: To promote the exercise of the right to health, with gender equity, for families with limited economic resources by enhancing medical care (gynecological, cardiological, and nutritional) provided by the medical staff at the Georges Duez Hospital of IPTK (Tomas Katarí Polytechnic Institute).

  • Maintenance of mammography equipment.
  • Acquisition of gynecological forceps, gloves, and medical supplies.
  • Medical and gynecological care for domestic workers and women involved in production (health fairs).
  • Training workshops for women on nutritional education, healthy habits, and healthcare.
  • Training workshops for girls, boys, and adolescents on nutritional education, nutritional requirements for children and adolescents, and healthcare.
  • Medical care and provision of vitamin supplements for girls, boys, and adolescents attending the Mobile School (health fairs).
  • Medical follow-up and monitoring for girls, boys, and adolescents at the Georges Duez Hospital.
  • Medical and cardiological care (health fairs) for parents of children attending the Mobile School.
